Marc O’Neill

Planting Designer

Marc specialises in thoughtful, carefully crafted, immersive gardens, focused on planting. A garden maker, his detailed, naturalistic approach, elevates architecture and increases biodiversity. Clients come to him for gardens that celebrate seasonality and natural beauty, honest spaces that create a sanctuary for them and their families. His first career as an award-winning fashion and homeware designer informs his design sensibility.

Marc is the Head Gardener for Maggie’s at The Royal Marsden. He has been a mentor for Project Giving Back at Chelsea Flower Show for three years, supporting the designers chosen to create gardens for charities. He has helped plant several gold medal winning Chelsea Flower Show Gardens with Harris Bugg and Andy Sturgeon, also working with the latter for six years in his studio and on private garden projects.

He has been a volunteer at Great Dixter for a decade, the world class, visionary garden for high-level horticultural training. Their approach to gardening has greatly influenced his work.
